Mariah Carey is taking over the entire hour of "Steve Harvey" today, where she will dish on her plans for Christmas, co-parenting her twins with ex Nick Cannon, and happiness with her new billionaire beau. She's won five Grammys and sold over 200 million albums worldwide, making her the third best-selling artist of all time, and Mariah is revealing to Steve just how she feels about her 20-year-old hit song, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" becoming a true holiday classic. She also talks about her new children's book of the same title.
Meanwhile, Mariah's directorial debut will air December 19, 8/7 CT on the Hallmark Channel. "A Christmas Melody" centers on divorced mother and fashion designer Kristin (Lacey Chabert) who returns to her Ohio hometown with her young daughter Emily (Fina Strazza), a budding songwriter who performs a Christmas song. Carey plays Kristin's rival Melissa, the PTA president, USA Today notes. "I did it for the love of just doing it. It was a great experience," says Carey. "I hope people want to sit down and watch it with their families during the Christmas season."
Mariah is scheduled to ride on the network's float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade Thursday. Wednesday's "Steve Harvey" episode will also find Steve enlisting Carey's help to honor a brave mother who made tremendous sacrifices for her twin children who were born severely premature. Mariah's glam squad gives the "super mom" a makeover and Steve gifts the family with $10,000 to help with their medical bills. He also sends them to visit their native Jamaica, so that the young children can meet members of the extended family for the first time.
