Notice anyone missing at the "American Idol" finale last night? Longtime fans of the show might've realized that there was only one former judge who didn't make an appearance in the series' last episode, and she just so happens to have a longtime feud with current judge, Jennifer Lopez. Lookin' at you, Mariah Carey!
In the two hour, six minute American Idol finale broadcast, Mariah Carey didn't even make a one second appearance. Every other person who has served as a host on the show at least filmed a quick farewell note, but Mimi didn't even make that effort. Could she have been throwin' shade at her longtime nemesis and current judge, Jennifer Lopez?
Mariah served as a judge on Season 12 of the show, alongside Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson. It was a season filled with drama and controversy, and it's no secret that her and Nicki weren't the best of friends. The ladies left the show after just one season, and not on the best terms, but even Nicki recorded a short package to play during the final episode.
So, of course, we have to wonder the reason behind the singer's decision not to take part - could it be her feud with J. Lo, who was front-and-center in her judges' seat at the show? The problems between these two date way back to the early 2000s, when Mariah was asked about Jennifer and responded, "I don't know her."
The comment has haunted the two gorgeous stars for years, and even in 2015, Mariah admitted she was just being "honest" when she said it. As recently as March 2016 she said she still doesn't know Jennifer. Meanwhile, J.Lo has insisted that there's no feud between the two, and that the two have never even met.
Mariah is actually overseas on tour, so it makes sense that she wasn't able to attend the live show on April 7, but we're still pretty shocked that she didn't even record a message. Even Simon Cowell came to the show and gave a touching speech. What do you have to say for yourself, Mariah?
