January

Her latest musical relaunch is a timid attempt at trap music called "I Don't" featuring rapper YG. The single duly flops.
September
The E! reality series "Mariah's World" is canceled after just one season. The finale pulls just half a million viewers.
October
Carey's ex, billionaire businessman James Packer refers to their short relationship and engagement in 2016 as a "mistake". Ouch.
November
After a tumultuous three years, Carey severs ties with manager Stella Bulochnikov, but signs with Jay-Z's Roc Nation instead. Could this be Mimi's real emancipation?
