The songbird has landed in Thailand. This morning, Mariah Carey posted a photo on her personal Instagram account, which shows her doing yoga with her kids at a villa - netizens speculate that it's in Hua Hin - before performing in Bangkok for an "intimate" show on Friday at one of the smaller halls in BITEC arena, which holds just over 9,000 people.
The singer has performed in Indonesia, China, Macau, Taiwan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Japan, and Indonesia over the last several weeks as the Asia leg of her Caution World Tour. Friday's show will be the final date of the Asia portion of the tour.
Though her new album won't be officially released until November 16, the first single "With You", sounds like a return to the early '90s R&B love ballads that made her famous. The singer was last in Bangkok for her Elusive Chanteuse Show tour at Impact Arena in 2014.
Carey's been popping up across regional media outlets during her time in Asia. A few days ago, she posted about performing in front of Indonesia's Borobudur Temple. She was in that country for a few days, also taking time to share a photo lounging by a plunge pool with her daughter.
Earlier in the tour, in Shanghai, she brought her kids on stage to sing with her. During her time in Manila, she got caught in one of the city's notorious traffic jams and shared it in an Instagram story. In mid-October, while in Malaysia, she brought her kids to a butterfly park.
The Bangkok promoters are staying mum on what our city's show might involve but, seeing how it is November, it wouldn't be surprising if she busted out the love-it-or-hate-it seasonal fave "All I Want for Christmas is You". Yup, we did that. Sorry.
