With new album Caution just over a week away, everything's coming up Mariah Carey at the moment. The Elusive Chanteuse has been dropping new tracks like hot cakes and as we patiently wait for the full record, we asked our readers to choose their favourite album from Carey's back catalogue. Only two albums received no votes - 1999's Rainbow and 2010's Merry Christmas II You.
Surprisingly, Carey's much-celebrated 1994 festive collection Merry Christmas only pulled in 1% of the vote. We expected that to chart a lot higher. At the top of the poll was 1997's Butterfly, the album the Carey admits is her own favourite. It picked up 36% of the vote and led by quite a distance.
Coming in second is Carey's classic 1995 album Daydream, which contained the monster hits Fantasy and One Sweet Day with Boyz II Men. 2005's The Emancipation of Mimi, which marked a resurgence in the singer's commerical performance, placed third with 15% of the vote.
Butterfly - 36% Daydream - 19% The Emancipation Of Mimi - 15% Music Box - 9% E=MC2 - 5% Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse - 4% Emotions - 3% Mariah Carey - 3% Glitter - 2% Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel - 2% Charmbracelet - 1% Merry Christmas - 1% Merry Christmas II You - 0% Rainbow - 0%
Mariah Carey's new album Caution is released on Friday 16th November 2018.
