On the third day of Christmas, Mariah Carey gave her Lambs a throwback performance of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" filmed in Japan's Tokyo Dome.
In the clip, a young Mimi brings down the house in a festive, '60s-inspired go-go look while flanked by a troupe of male back-up dancers dressed in baggy, oversized suits, suspenders and Santa hats. As throngs of fans shriek with joy, the singer-songwriter extends the song's famous intro with a few bars of extra ad-libs before launching into the first verse.
Carey shared the unearthed video on Tuesday (December 3) as part of her ongoing 25 Days of Mariah Christmas, writing, "This was my first time performing the song in Japan. It's always such a festive experience performing it for my Japanese fans, whether it's in July or December! I will never forget how surprised I was to see the love for this song in Japan and I will always be grateful to my Japanese fans for giving me this unforgettable moment."
The vintage performance arrives just as the superstar's classic Christmas hit once again reigns atop the newly re-launched Holiday 100 chart. (The track also currently sits at No. 18 on the Hot 100 chart dated December 7, continuing its annual resurgence after peaking at No. 3 last Christmas season.)
