Mariah Carey always has something cooking. For the upcoming holiday season, the Queen of Christmas shares a favorite holiday tradition as she partners with SiriusXM's Holly this month.
"I like to cook during the holidays," Carey, 55, says. "I make linguini with white clam sauce - my father's favorite recipe. I make it every year and sometimes my daughter Monroe helps me make it."
Carey shares 13-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-husband Nick Cannon. "It's something I love doing," she adds about her delicious tradition.
The "Obsessed" singer also has a festive project that will serve as the perfect soundtrack to fans' holiday traditions. Carey will be taking over SiriusXM's Holly station with Mariah Mondays on Monday, December 2, 9, 16 and 23 from 6 a.m. to midnight.
During Mariah Mondays, Carey will be "blending holiday classics with festive hits", as per a press release. Fans can be on the lookout for songs including Kelly Clarkson's "Underneath the Tree", Aretha Franklin's rendition of "Winter Wonderland" and Stevie Wonder singing "Someday at Christmas".
And, of course, everyone’s favorite holiday songs by Carey herself, including "All I Want for Christmas is You".
In addition to dishing about her holiday tradition, Carey teases what's in store for her 2025. She says she's working on new music and though she doesn't want to talk about it too much she does call it "exciting".
"There's things that have to do with my book and my scripted series," she continues. "So many things, but I don't want to go into it too far, because then everyone's gonna say, 'Why did you tell us this and it didn't happen?'"
"So, let's hope this is enough," Carey concludes. Carey published her memoir The Meaning of Mariah in 2020 which became a New York Times bestseller. Meanwhile, a scripted series about her life has been in the works since 2017, Deadline reported.
Fans will have to stay tuned to see what exactly Mimi is talking about.
