Embracing natural curls has been an ongoing trend this year. People on TikTok have been finding out they've had curly hair all their lives, Allure editors have shared their curly-hair routines during the pandemic, we found out Adele has naturally curly hair (who knew?), and Mariah Carey brought back her early-'90s ringlets - and it looks like they're here to stay.
On August 16, Carey posted a new photo to her Instagram wearing her curly hair while praising the weather for a good hair day in the caption. The singer wore her dirty-blonde ringlets with volume and parted to the side while she thanked the humidity for her flawless look. Carey wrote, "Good humidity for a curlyRiah weekend."
Personally, I didn't know there was such thing as "good humidity", but clearly, I've been wrong all along because this is better than just good - and her fans agree. "CurlyRiah," one wrote, praising the nickname Carey gave herself, while others screamed compliments to her like "stunning" and "beautiful".
In the photo, Carey wears a smoky eye, bold brow, and a nude lip, which, if you have been following her on Instagram for a while, you'll know is her glam most days. You better get used to it because it doesn't look like it's changing anytime soon, and we can only hope we get to continue seeing her natural curls flourish more often as well.
