The directorial debut of Mariah Carey with musical film "A Christmas Melody" is underway and is progressing at a right pace. The movie is derived from her own single "All I Want For Christmas" which is a festive anthem in itself. The festive flick is developed in an alliance with Hallmark channel.
"A Christmas Melody" cast include 33-year-old Lacey Chabert who is popularly known for her role in "Mean Girls". It is said that Carey is a big fan of Chabert and is pretty excited to cast her in the lead role. She is playing the role of a single mom Kristen who returns back to her hometown and meets her old boyfriend there. The latter half is about Kristen’s daughter Emily who becomes the star of snowflake pageant on its 25th anniversary. [banner] According to Daily Mail, the movie is going to feature songs of Carey throughout the film. In fact, she has redone the lyrics of her 2010 hit number "Oh Santa" and has revised it for "A Christmas Melody". The script of the festive flick is written by Peter Barsocchini, who has previously worked on the script of "High School Musical".
Carey stated in an interview that, the moment she recorded album "Christmas" she felt to work more on it, something that could be cherished every Christmas.
Even before the release Mariah Carey is being praised widely for her work. Executive producer Brad Krevoy stated that, Carey has a great vision and capability to turn out things into something very special, "A Christmas Melody" is certainly one of them.
The film airs at 8 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2015, on the Hallmark Channel. Do not miss out.
