Mariah's Def Leppard cover spurs debate
Def Jam boss L.A. Reid confirmed to The New York Post at Spice Market the other night he will be "working closely" with Mariah Carey on her next album. "That should ensure she won't be doing any hideous remakes of Def Leppard songs," one wag quipped to The Post.
That remark prompted Roger Friedman of FoxNews.com to counter that "Bringing on the Heartbreak" "brought Carey excellent reviews and a lot of new listeners. She even performed the song live on the "Today" show from the Mall of America and won many kudos. It continues to be a radio hit for Carey." Mariah's "Charmbracelet" follow-up should be released late this year. (Popdirt)
