Re: Orlando shooting (63,275) (63,309) by darrian liu from taiwan
My deepest condolences to those who were hurt and/or killed by the shooting. It's a cruel world we live in. Sigh.

Re: Incompetent (63,276) (63,308) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
RJJ12, I respect your opinions and your post but please being a 13 year old is no excuse for the mess that Mariah's instagram has become, especially when you have taken up a huge responsibility. This photo is only one of the many messy posts. Plus the horrible captions and emojis? People who are not lambs will be thinking it's Mariah. Sometimes it looks like she doesn't even try to find good pictures and will upload just about anything. Like the picture with half of the caption cropped off, the other edit of Mariah some fan made where they made her even thinned unnecessarily. Then the random post which was unflattering for everyone including Mariah but just Mishka was looking good. I don't complain about Mishka constantly shadowing Mariah anymore and trying to get camera action, because I get it, it's cool to hang out with a major superstar and experience her life style and a 13 year old can't resist that. But if she takes over charge of Mariah's instagram, something which is like a bridge between Mariah and the fans/GP, this is not acceptable. Mariah gets dragged in the comments for the silly emojis and captions and so does Mishka. It's one thing to be a part of Mariah's entourage and enjoy her lifestyle, but it's not the same when she starts getting involved in the professional aspect. And say what you want, the social media is a powerful tool in a celebrity's life. Mariah's previous instagram feed was much more interesting that it is now. Now it looks like the instagram of a 13 year old.

Kelly Price (63,307) by Giovanni from USA
Is a bitter, jealous woman who had no successful solo career. Her talent is minimal, so anything she has to say about Mariah is irrelevant.

Deedre (63,306) by Giovanni from USA
I adored Selena. Not as much as Mariah but I was a fan of her music and personality. She was so sweet, humble and was a very good role model. I also loved how much she stood for education. I always think about where she would be today if she were alive. She had her whole life and career ahead of her. And it was taken by an evil, jealous obsessed person. Selena was a star and would have been a legend today. My favorite songs are "No quiero saber", "Baila esta cumbia", "La carcacha" and "Techno cumbia". I also enjoy "Que creias", "El toro relajo" and "I'm getting used to you". Love her vocals on "El toro relajo".

Re: Butterfly's anniversary (63,280) (63,305) by Tevin from USA
And please throw the lyrics for The Roof in with the rest release lol, it's my second favorite song on that album but half of the song you don't even know what the heck Mariah is saying. Lol yet it sounds so good. It's crazy because even though Daydream is my favorite album because of the songs and the sound and it brings me back to my childhood memories, Butterfly when I listen to it takes me into another world sort of speak, like I feel like I'm not just listening to a beautiful song, it makes you feel like your living inside of the song or are a part of it. Like you can see agent m going past you in a jet ski, or you're lost in the forest from hiking and you see a beautiful woman running around with an unbridaled horse, or your standing outside in the pouring rain while taking part in a roof top event. Lol as crazy as it sounds and I do joke but seriously though it may not be a polished and have as memorable songs as Daydream, Butterfly does embody what a true album should be, which is something that you feel you have experienced even if you never have and you only heard it through a song. How do you guys feel about the album?

Re: Billy, B, Giovanni and One Sweet Day (63,227) (63,304) by Giovanni from USA
Randy I love you but I don't think you're giving Mariah enough credict for her live performances after '97. She gave countless amazing performances after that year. "If only you knew"/"Somewhere over the rainbow" at the Essence awards 1998. (Mariah was hitting those notes effortlessly and did that amazing translation. She also gave Patti her life that night.) "Love hanger"/"Heartbreaker" at Divas live 2000. "Vision of love" in Zurich 2003. "You and I" at BET Walk Of Fame 2003. "Vision of love" at BET Blueprint 2005. "We belong together" at BET awards 2005. "With you I'm born again" with John Legend at VH1 Save the music 2005. "I stay in love" at American music awards 2008. "Fly like a bird" at American Idol 2008. (Probably the best performance of the song. Mariah was killing those whistle notes.) "We belong together" on Good Morning America 2013. "Hero" at Human Rights Civilization Gala 2015. To name a few. Im not really impressed with Jennifer Hudson or Fantasia. Jennifer has a loud voice but I don't like her tone. She can't do riffs and runs. Fantasia is okay but her tone isn't very pleasant. I think Kristine W, Yolanda Adams, Jessie J, Joss Stone and Beyonce all crush both of them vocally. Lastly, I love Celine but her voice has changed big time. And she does lip sync a lot in Vegas. She lipped the majority of her performance at the Billboard.

Me. I Am was sonically pleasing, but in my opinion to be honest, there was a emotional disconnect in her voice, the production and engineering gave the emotion. Sorry this is my opinion dahlings.

Re: State of mind (armchair psychology) (63,288) (63,300) by Amber C from USA
She's embarrassing herself, not me. I've reached the point were undying support is no longer. She has let me down, she doesn't care about fans, she doesn't even communicate on social media. The only great thing about Mariah is the music. Since that's no longer, well.

Re: May / rappers and drugs (63,267) (63,299) by Amber C from USA
Remember two years ago Nick's father wrote a scene on his fb that seemed like he was talking about Nick and Mariah? Drugs were alluded to as was drinking. And Mariah look have gone done the drain pretty fast, her whole family has good aging genes so it worries me somehow idk.

Repetitive Vegas show (63,298) by Dustbin from USA
In the age of YouTube everyone sees every performance. I know it's #1's, but Mariah should make each show different. Something special for the fans that go that particular night. A different song or a cover, a fan request. Adele, Celine, Whitney, Sam Smith, Britney. A cover would go viral. Just a thought.

Mariah Carey #1 to infinity June 10 highlights (63,297) by 123 from USA
Nice vocals on Vision Of Love, One Sweet Day (go Trey), My All. TGIFY just keeps getting better and better. Her voice sounds so full, and her transitions are so sick, I can only imagine how she sounded in person.

I love the Butterfly Garden interview. And the one she does that same era in Australia. She's lying on a coach in a brown outfit. But she gives a lot of insightful answers about writing music, music genres, and mixing during that interview which I really enjoy hearing about.

She does sound really good. I cannot wait to see her in August. It's funny how someone on drugs can sound so good. Hm.

Re: Butterfly's anniversary (63,280) (63,293) by Billy from Greece
Bill, I love Tori Amos and I thought the repackaging of the first two albums was excellent. I don't see Mariah doing something like that, though. Though it is indeed twenty years since "Butterfly" (as unfathomable as that may sound to me) it still is not the time, I think. Not to mention that some albums should not be touched with rereleases, or deluxe versions or anything. Maybe too purist of an approach, but sometimes I lean on this. What I long for is a good boxset someday, down the line. Diana, Barbra and Aretha released their career-spanning retrospectives around their thirtieth year in the business (in the early 90s). Again, I think Mariah is not very fond of things like that for some reason. As long as she wants to be active and current, I don't see anniversary editions coming our way.

Also the History Channel link that I posted is not the documentary I intended. I must have copied the wrong URL Oy ve, that video is not even close to what I meant to post. Yikes. Don't even bother with the other one lol. I meant the Biography Channel special part 1, part 2, part 3, part 4, part 5. Oops lol. Not sure if it works on mobile.

Such a sad day for those who went out to have fun and didn't come home. Love that Instagram post are using Mariah's "Can't take that away" as a theme.

Re: Kelly Price (63,279) a hater? (63,290) by Ty from USA
Why is it that K. Michelle called Kelly Price a demon? Kelly Price is always throwing shade at everyone else. I sincerely hopes her fake "Christian" [censored] learns some humility and learns some respect for those who have paved the way for her to afford being able to consume an entire turkey.

State of mind (armchair psychology) (63,288) by Andrew from UK
State of mind? It's perfectly clear to any armchair psychologist that Mariah has gone, what's the technical term? Oh, that's right, "wacko". Nobody needs a degree to spot behaviour that is out of the ordinary, manic behaviour, bi-polar extremes, self-harming, etc. I think it likely, in my armchair estimation, that Mariah is lost, as she was in 2000/01, in that nobody wants to buy her music, she's nowhere near as famous as she was and in general people don't like her. So she's going a bit "wacko". To deny it is a lot of nonsense. Nothing anyone can do about it. It is what it is. Her career and her life appear to be a giant mess. She isn't coming across as a respected, seasoned professional. She's embarrassing herself with silly social media posts, drunken behaviour, strange interviews, feuds, nipples. And, dare I say, she's embarrassing a lot of her fans.

You're welcome. I realized after I posted the YouTube links, that they don't appear available on mobile devices, only computer. If you decide to watch "Selena Remembered", it has several parts to it.

Happy birthday (63,286) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Happy birthday to the debut album that launched four #1 singles and made a shy young woman from Long Island New York an overnight sensation. Happy 26th birthday to the Mariah Carey album. Thank you Mariah for all you have given us over the years your gifts as a singer-songwriter-producer are unparalleled. Here's to many more years of greatness.

It's her perogative (63,285) by Shezz from Pk
Mariah is clearly aware everytime the phone cams are on. If she wants to let loose for the world to see it's her perogative. I know that the lambs that are upset about those clips are only responding with Mariah's best interest at heart. I will agree with Mimi L. though that her instagram needs professional help. She said in a radio interview that she's developed a bond with Stella also being a single mother. I respect that. But social media needs a major overhaul. There are plenty of ways to empower your girls other than by making them incharge of Mariah's instagram. Also, lets not get on the "fragile" bandwagon please. Not yet.

My All live #1 to infinity 6-10-16 (63,284) by 123 from USA
Wow Mariah. She stuck her foot in this performance. She sounds so comfortable singing this song now. Her notes are so fluid. It's funny how her live notes on this song sound better then the pre-records. I say sing it all live now and make it another live center piece of the show. I cannot wait to hear how she sung the song last night. I guess if you are ever going to see Mariah perform, vocally, this would be a great year to do it.

Clips Vegas June 11th (63,283) by 123 from USA
She is sounding even better than the first night. I'm happy that she is at least re-focused on all aspects of her career (voice, image, promotion, new projects) and I'm glad she is getting back to recording new music. Looks like they listened to someone's suggestion and matched her ostrich feather coat with a body suit while singing Vision of Love. Here is IDWC. Glad she seems to be working in more live notes and sounding good at it.
