Organisers deny Mariah Carey headliner rumours
Mariah Carey and Prince will not be headlining this year's Glastonbury Festival according to Glastonbury organiser Emily Eavis who has shot down the claims. Emily, who puts together the annyal festival along with her father Michael Eavis, has addressed the recent speculation that both Mariah Carey and "Purple Rain" hitmaker Prince are in talks with them about the prospect of headlining the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm in June.
Clearing up the rumours on Twitter, Emily tweeted on Wednesday: "Three nonsense headliner stories in a week, all completely untrue. Real news will be with you soon!" While the headliners for Glasto are usually announced at the beginning of the year, organisers have decided to reveal the main line-up closer to the date.
A bevy of musicians have been rumoured to headline this year's festival, with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Kings of Leon, being thrown into the mix. Nas, AlunaGeorge, Sub Focus and Rudimental are among the first names that have been officially confirmed to perform at the revamped Dance Village. The last Glasto was held in 2011 with Beyonce, Coldplay and U2 headlining the Pyramid Stage. (Entertainmentwise)
