Mariah Carey acquires her eighth No. 1 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, as Caution opens atop the ranking dated December 1. The LP, Carey's first on her own Butterfly MC label in conjunction with Epic Records, earned 51,000 equivalent album units in the week ending November 22, according to Nielsen Music.
With her eighth leader, the superstar diva breaks out of a tie with Janet Jackson and Alicia Keys to claim sole ownership of third place for the most No. 1s in the chart's nearly 54-year history among women. Carey trails only Mary J. Blige and Aretha Franklin, both with 10 chart-topping sets. The Temptations own the all-time mark, with 16 No. 1s.

Caution concurrently opens at No. 1 on the Top R&B Albums chart and No. 5 on the all-genre Billboard 200. Multiple songs have supported the album's rollout, including the promotional tracks "GTFO" and the Ty Dolla $ign-assisted "The Distance", which reached Nos. 4 and 13 on R&B Digital Song Sales, respectively. Lead radio single "With You" has climbed to Nos. 11 and 12, respectively, on the Adult Contemporary and Adult R&B Songs airplay charts.
In addition to her new material, two entries from the Carey catalog are generating renewed chart action. The #Justice4Glitter social media campaign, launched in support of the singer-songwriter's 2001 soundtrack Glitter, helped fuel the album's return to multiple Billboard charts. Plus, holiday favorite "All I Want for Christmas Is You" makes its annual resurgence and re-enters the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 29. The track, first released in 1994, earned its best Hot 100 rank yet last year, with a No. 9 showing in December.
