Christmas shows (107,084) by Robert-Anthony from United States
MC just announced Christimas Time shows starting November 17th for a total of 20 shows. This will be her first full Christmas tour. I don't think MC16 is coming out this year.

Damn. I'm pleasantly surprised. "Fly like a bird" is a song she always kills every time she performs it, and is always such a triumphant moment for her. I got chills honestly. It is also the concert encore now, which makes sense since it is also the album closer on "The Emancipation of Mimi". Her voice is improving.

How I became a fan (107,079) by Edward from USA
When "Daydream" was released I was a toddler. My mom used to play "Open Arms" to me when I couldn't sleep, that's how I became a fan. About five years later, when I was being a lil a*hole, my mom would punish me by playing "Did I Do That" repeatedly until I apologize. By the time JD started inserting himself on every track, and knowing I wouldn't have survived him on repeat, I became a lovely child. When I write my memoir, I'm considering calling my mother by her first name.

I was 18 when Daydream was released. I am now 46. Talk about feeling old.

If It’s Over? (107,077) by Stacey from USA
It's usually a skip song for me. However, her performance at the Grammys is in a league of its own. Superhuman.

If It’s Over? (107,076) by Libra Lamb from USA
This song is hugely underrated. The lyrics and her delivery is perfection. Should've been a number 1. Lol. I became a fan with Fantasy. I'd heard Hero and a few other songs but I was probably too young to appreciate it and too busy being a kid. I'm born in 81 and moved to the States from Mexico in 89. I had to learn English so the first few years were a blur. But Fantasy caught my ear with it's lyrics and fresh sound, there was no one like Mariah on the radio besides the late great Whitney Houston. I will always be a fan, no matter what. It actually makes me really sad to think that one day she won't be here. I will be a mess if she goes before I do. Sorry that took a left turn. But you guys get my point.

Can't Let Go (107,075) by Edward from USA
The fact that we're all here means we can't let go of her. At least we're becoming more realistic. As I've stated before, I don't expect Mariah to sing like she did in the 90s, but I would love some consistency, that's all. Her songwriting is half of the equation, and she can certainly deliver on that part if she wants to. I was listening to "Portrait" the other day, and for some reason, the song hits differently now. It's definitely "Looking In" part two.

If It’s Over? (107,074) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes, it is a very long time. I became a fan with Daydream and sometimes I can't believe it's been such a long time. I grew up with her music. I also can never let Mariah go. I just want the best for her. If you're a fan/lamb for such a long time it's really a special feeling.

As I said earlier this week If It's Over is my favourite. Good lyrics and a good sound. Strangely enough more mature sound that what she has done lately.

I can't let go either. There's nothing MC can do for me to turn my back on her as a fan. Her music has always been there for me and will forever be. At the end of the day she's just as human as you and I and I can't fault her for anything. When I had no one to talk to and when I felt alone, she (her music) was there for me. Loyalty is everything to me.

If It’s Over? (107,071) by Robert-Anthony from United States
I listened to it this morning. The bridge brought tears to my eyes. It made me think that I shouldn't count MC out just yet. I know in my heart that I can't let MC go. MC got me through some tough times in the 90s. Thirty years is a long time to be a fan of someone.

Mariah loves it when we relate to her songs on a personal level. I don't think we collectively can relate to any song more than we can all probably relate to "If It's Over" right now. From the first word to the very last. The song just hits different now. Give it a go.

Merry Christmas (107,068) by Edward from USA
"Merry Christmas" is turning 30 this year. She should go all out with something special, especially since "All I Want for Christmas Is You" seems to have lost some of its initial momentum while other holiday songs have gained popularity. She shouldn't rest on her laurels, particularly during the season that brings her the most redvenue.

I don't know about you, but I feel a bit neglected. What's the point of keeping her core fanbase in limbo? It doesn't make sense to me. She could have released a 6-track EP without worrying about high sales. With today's technology, she doesn't even need a record label. CDs can be produced on demand now.

MC16 (107,067) by Robert-Anthony from United States
I wonder why Columbia Legacy or Def Jam/Island Records hasn't released more box set compilations with album singles or remixes or even Grammy/TV performances. I would love to have her MTV, BET or network tv specials on DVD. Does MC have to give her permission to create and release such compilations or DVDs?

Yes definitely seems like it. At this point Mariah doesn't seem too inspired or enthusiastic about music and/or she doesn't seem too confident about the work she's done recently and hence not releasing it. She seems to have fully embraced relying on her Christmas and past catalogues by touring etc. I don't see the fire in her although I see glimpses when she's jumping on these remixes to stay relevant. But that won't do much if she doesn't manage her own promos properly. So yes unfortunately MC16 will probably be our last if we even get it .

MC16 (107,064) by Edward from USA
I think she'll release a few more "Rarities-type" albums, but I don't expect her to release any new studio albums after MC16. Even though Caution was critically acclaimed, she mentioned that her voice wasn't in good shape during its recording. If it wasn't in good shape then, what about now? I would be fine with MC16 being her final album. She shouldn't count on it being a huge success in terms of sales though, Caution was released six years ago and has sold around 200k copies.

I feel MC16 will be her last album if she ever releases it. Six years without an album is not what we are accustomed to. So, I would be okay if it is her last album. It seems like her heart is not in releasing new music for whatever reason that we are not privy to right now. I still love me some MC. My collection of 30 years is worth a lot of money.

I think that will depend on how MC16 fares. It would take something close to a miracle for it to be successful, even if it is a great album, which I have a feeling it will be.

She will keep dabbling in music, maybe not an entire album. And of course there's always the possibility of Under the Christmas Three, which might come when she's 60 now. Wow. That sounds surreal.

I think it is gonna be a longer pause between MC16 and the next album (which I am sure it's gonna happen) but we will not mind the pause because MC16 is gonna be a fire. I feel it in my bones.
