This is interesting and quite accurate except a few points. I wonder who got this information and do some of those songs actually exist?

"The Art of Letting Go" was the name of the album, but then it morphed into MIAMTEC. The original concept was scrapped, she recorded new songs, discarded others and TAOLG was relegated to a bonus track. According to Nick, the original "The Art of Letting Go" was classic Mariah, with powerful ballads, he described it as Mariah going back to her roots, but that never happened.

We can blame Walmart for TAOLG being scrapped. Someone at the retail giant leaked the album title and July 23, 2013 release date. Mariah was pissed and released MIAM less than a year later on May 23, 2014. I believe that Thirsty, $Money, Meteorite, YDKWTD, and Heavenly were recorded after the Wal-Mart leak of TAOLG.

An employee at Walmart was responsible for the title leak, but I doubt it was the reason Mariah scrapped everything. At the time it was about to be released, she was still in a relationship with Nick. When their relationship started going down south is when TAOLG didn't make sense to her anymore.

She should have released the album as "The Art of Letting Go" on the original release date. "Me I Am Mariah" has some good songs, but it does not work as an album. Like "Rainbow," it felt like something she released simply to fulfill contractual obligations. Collaborating with Miguel on "#Beautiful" was a smart move, but the momentum got squandered.

I agree with you, that's what it feels like. Some great songs, but that's it. Hopefully we get some of those unused tracks on The Rarities 2.
