No new album in 2024 (105,848) by T from USA I'm hearing that there indeed will be no new album this year. MC16 is nowhere near completion and she doesn't have a label either. For fans that loved MIAMTEC I'm sure when something finally comes it will be in the vein of that album that took time to release (2011-2014). And less like Caution that was all done in a matter of months. Jay Z and Roc Nation lined up ten different producers and Mariah just banged out Caution in record time. MC16 will be more of a personal work that has sit with her for years before release. The question will be if any of the Butterfly Lounge ideas will make it on. The Yes And remix was recorded to hold fans over until Christmas which will be a big 30th anniversary later this year. I don't think Heartbreaker could have worked as well as Loverboy. Maybe it was the script change that was apart of the film's delay that caused MC not to even consider Heartbreaker for Glitter. Maybe MC saving it, gave her the genius idea to use Val Young's If You Should Ever Be Lonely for the Junior Vasquez remixes. That interpolation was just a brillant sample idea. When I heard "Fantasy" on the radio back then I was enchanted. I bought the album and I still remember the day. I was so happy, I still have the original cassette. "Always be my baby", "One Sweet Day", "Open Arms", "Forever", " Melt away", "Long Ago", "Underneath the stars", "Daydream Interlude" and the incredible "Looking in". Isn't it unbelievable? For me it is and always will be the ultimate Mariah album. It is the perfect mix of Pop and RnB. That album caused Mariah mania. Daydream is deep in my heart. (Friday 1 March 2024; 20:34)

Mariah has always referred to Music Box whenever she's talking about a time to massive success and sales peaks, but never about Daydream. Listening to whole Daydream album, it really sounds so fresh and it flows perfectly from one song to another. Fantasy alone is one of the most perfect pop songs ever made. It's so timeless. I think it was because he put so much money into that Elle insert that he didn't want another failed MC album release under his leadership.
