Time to clean house (70,583) by Mirage from Unicornatopia For what feels like the millionth time in Mariah's career, I feel like she needs to clean house. However, the starting point is with Mariah this time. It's not enough to get rid of Stella and all the hangers on, but Mariah needs to go to rehab and centre herself again. She needs to find Mariah Carey. She looks lost in this world. She looks lost in Mariah's World. She looked lost on stage. Once she gets some perspective, she needs to get rid of Stella and hire a professional and effecive team. She needs a team capable of handling legends, similar to what Lionel Richie or Barbra Streisand has around them. Time to accept that you are a legends artist, rely on your back catalogue, and accept your age. Birthdays happen Mariah. People grow up. It's time you do the same. (Monday 2 January 2017; 1:11)

Starting the new year with a new L (70,582) by Marissa from USA This shit was absolutely unacceptable. You mean to tell me that after all of those mishaps no one could have ran on stage and given her another earpiece or done something? They couldn't have cut the music? How did they just let the woman embarrass herself for 6 minutes on stage with no interference? That's like her having a nipslip and just having to continue performing with her nipple out without a stylist coming to the rescue. Somebody needs to be fired. That shit didn't make any sense. I don't know the inner-workings of the situation so I'm not going to blame it completely on Stella but I would be very happy if this was just used as a segue to get rid of her ass. I'm personally not too crushed by this event. You know how it is with Mariah once the media has dragged her: it will either make her step her team and voice up or she will fully accept that she should hang it up and retire. I'm tired one of the most legendary artists around having a career checkered with failure, chaos and lack of professionalism. There is no excuse anymore. Go hard or go home. By the time that happened, I'm surprised Mariah didn't collapse on stage because my heart certainly couldn't take it even though I was sitting behind a computer screen in a different part of the world. Imagine her standing there, already knowing she's screwed after that "Emotions" tragedy and then to have the album version of WBT come over. If I was her, I'd either collapse (but demand a chaise lounge first), or start taking off my shoes and running while aiming my shoes at the technicians or producers (whoever was nearer) or just take off my wig and sit on the floor and wait for it to end. I still love Mariah (70,578) by Giovanni from USA But I honestly can't understand what is going on with her? She seems so disconnected with the real world. She refuses to act and dress her age and is using sexiness instead of her talent. And who can forget "Infinity"? Who is this woman? I admit I had given up on Mariah because I became so disgusted, disappointed and at times embarrassed. I just didn't care about her anymore. But I can't seem to erase her from life. She's given me so much happiness with her music that I don't want to turn my back on her so easily. That isn't what a real fan does. She has so much potential to have at least one more successful era but she has to start being more professional. Last night's performance is a perfect example of what I'm talking about. She is still relying on playback and lipping. And the sexiness has got to stop. She looks so desperate. I'm not embarrassed about her performance, I'm disappointed. This just gives her haters more ammo. She should just sing songs she can sing live. "Emotions" is no longer a song she can handle. I really hope what happened last night never happens again. Stella blaming ABC and Dick Clark's Production (70,577) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Stella (and we know it's her because she used TMZ) claims that DC Production and ABC wanted to sabotage Mariah for ratings. Woman clearly doesn't know how to handle a mega star because now she will be burning a lot of bridges. Mariah's team back in Rockefeller was clever enough not make such claims with NBC, even though clearly someone from there leaked it. Stella is claiming there were a lot of red flags and how they complained before the show that the ear monitor wasn't working but they avoided her. Since then DC Production has given a statement saying that Team Mariah is being silly with the sabotage claims especially since Mariah never came in for the sound check and used a stand in instead and that apparently there were 8 active on stage monitors amplifying the sound so Mariah could hear the music regardless of the ear monitor. Now I don't know if Stella is being paranoid or there really was some problem but rule of the business is that you don't just start a fight with a major television network. The fact that they exposed that there were 8 monitors on stage so Mariah could hear fine is bad for Mariah. Keep in mind Mariah complained the monitors were off and they also played the album version of WBT which Mariah wouldn't have used even if she planned to lip sync. So something is definitely amiss. Since DC is claiming that Mariah's team provided the track list, it might also happen that her team messed up the track list (and will anyone really be surprised at that considering they didn't know there are time differences between countries?). Anyways somebody messed up but instead of playing the blame games by directly firing at a big production house/network, the more ideal thing to do was for her to just say she had technical issues (without saying whose fault it is) and then going on an unplugged show or sing a few A Capella songs, book a major TV appearance, even if she has to pay for it, like the Grammy's and just prove her voice and her ability. Stella you are so dense. This is why a reality show producer can't be a manager. Go take some management courses at least. Going to TMZ crying wolf every time won't work. You are ruining Mariah dumb head. Who is writing these statements? Mishka? I'm so sick of the childish crybaby moves her team plays every time. Nick Cannon. Sabotage (won't let Mariah get married). James Packer, sabotage (trying to tarnish Mariah's image post break up). ABC. Sabotage. Calm down, no one will buy this. You have only made things worse. First ABC will now have bad blood with MC and second they'll make their own statements and that obviously won't put Mariah in a good light. I hope this stops right here and does not drag on for months like the Carey Packer one sided feud. Stella is such an immature crybaby. Look in instead of blaming people outside. If so I think someone behind the scenes thinks Mariah needs taken down a notch or two. This isn't going to ruin her career or legacy. To the public she's an out of touch with reality lazy diva. They saw this as nothing new. Same old Mariah failing at lipping. Some cites are reporting that she did a rehearsal that went well and that this incident was caused by technical difficulties behind the scenes. The upside of this is the public love a comeback and Mariah thrives when she's the underdog. Mariah go on a morning show and sing TGIFY live and explain it was a technical difficulty and that everyone lips at these functions. (Sunday 1 January 2017; 20:49)

My thoughts on NYE (70,575) by Randy from USA I have held my tongue until I knew how to address the situation. If you need to have vocal surgery, go have it. If you need to retire, then do that. But don't make a mockery of singing when there are so many girls who can sing who never get the chance because of what they look like or don't have the right connections. MC to me is the greatest singer/songwriter of all time but she clearly can't or doesn't want to do it anymore. And she got paid to do that, probably three times what I make in a year, for 6 minutes of work. As a fan, I am embarrassed. As a former singer, I am enraged. As an American worker, I am disgusted. Scared to sing? (70,574) by Tiina from Finland I do feel very bad for her. She's always been insecure about performing live and matching up to the level of her studio vocals. She edited or dubbed shows even during her prime when she certainly did not need to but there was always an effort to make her seem absolutely pitch perfect. I think that made her insecure all along and now today she's not only trying to live up to an unreal level of vocal perfection but trying to be a version of herself from 20 years ago. I think what happened was that without hearing herself properly and certainly without the prerecorded vocals she was simply scared to sing at all because the last time she did that the mic feed was leaked. It's understandable that she felt defeated, however refusing to even try and walking out makes her look very bad. And how is it possible that there was no soundcheck? What could have been more important than that before a live TV taping? (Sunday 1 January 2017; 19:19)

I thought she's fully learned her lesson in Jamaica but the lies kept going. Now the whole entire world actually knows she's a phony. Please don't give the "oh well she's not the only artist that lip syncs", Mariah got through most of her career miming. And that's unacceptable for a "real" singer. I dont even feel bad for her. I just feel really bad for the lambs. The ones who wholeheartedly devote their lives to Mariah, and they get this. That performance hands down beat all the lip syncing bust in history. I pray Mariah wakes the f*** up. This is the hardest karma that ever hit her. I remember when she was saying to Howard Stern, "Don't ever accuse me of not singing ever again" when in fact she was miming the chorus of "My All". She's deep down in the lies. Mariah, wake up girl. Stella can't fire techs unless it is her team of techs and definitely can't fire Mariah. Once the error goes on stage, it is up to Mariah to fix it. She didn't do anything except walk and wait for the music to run. The earpiece allows singers to listen to themselves better when on stage or near a band as the music drowns your own voice and you can't hear yourself too well (unless you are in an opera stage). But she could still try to do the effort, she could listen to the music and the mic was open. Her insecurity took the best out of her. (Sunday 1 January 2017; 19:03)

She's so so over it (70,570) by Matthew from USA I said it before, and I'll say it again. It's about work ethic. It's about caring. Beyonce had a docu-series that premiered on HBO. It was mostly about work. Beyonce being unhappy about the lighting. Beyonce arguing about the stage colors and props. Beyonce being critical about the video playback in her sound check. Beyonce wanting the band to play higher, then lower. Basically, Beyonce caring. I think there was a time Mariah was like this. She was a control freak, perfectionist, or some would use the B word. I think these days, she just doesn't want to put in the work. Like Beyonce, Mariah has a docu-series, except hers premiered on E. and Mariah's doc is about scripted moments between her employees. In this doc, Mariah herself states that at this point in her life, she just wants to show up and expects that the people she hires gets it right, just the way she likes it. Well, this debacle is the result of that attitude. If you want things to be on point, you have to be the one to make sure it's on point. I would respect if she said, I just don't have a passion for this anymore and went on to do other things. But she wants the check and the money for doing nothing, and I can't respect or support that. I felt truly sad while watching the performance. I mean it, I kept the tears from falling. But I'm not being dramatic. I felt that way not because she lipsynch wrongly the first song (yes, it was that obvious). It was the fact that she gave up quickly. She stood there, waiting, tapping, mumbling, strutting. My idol gave up, in front of the world. I don't like to make comparissons but Gaga or even Aguilera would have sang loudly as they could, without mic, with their voices trashed, they've done it but Mariah never dares. Her mic was open, she could have said the hell with the track and sing a capella anything until the tech fixed the situation. Instead she giggled. She has been in that stressful moment before, didn't she learn anything? More than 20 years of stage experience to have come to this. Have we been cheated so hard all this time? Yes, she is human, her instrument depends on many things but it's obvious the will is not there any longer. "I will just go through Emotions" (paraphrasing) she mentioned along the lines, zero effort except a "oh wo wo". Has singing become so hard for her that she constantly needs a lead? I feel like I'm being lied to everytime she says music and singing is everything to her. From that performance all I can say is that she has no passion for the job anymore. (New York City) As a fan from 1902 the play back I saw really hurt my soul, for MC to be one of the last few legends we have left that performance was a travesty and if MC does not wake up from the land of glitter, rainbows, butterflies, and daydreams from this day on she forget about any form of trust from the general public. It's time for Mother Butterfly to clean house and start over from top to bottom. She does not need anymore enablers around her, she needs people who are going to tell her what she needs to hear opposed to what she wants to hear. Time to dress like the star you are and make music that has meaning instead of making music that is following trends and making herself look thirsty for a hit like a fiend. If she does not take this time to regroup she might as well hung up the short skirts, high heels, and studded microphone for good because her career is done. Mariah for your legacy, save yourself. She had the little crystal embellished ear pieces in when she did Auld Lang Syne. Then the dancers covered her up with the feathers. After which we can see that the ear pieces are out. In video we can see Anthony tucking something into the back of her outfit. It's an ear piece. This was her during Emotions. Still, she had the left ear piece and I didn't see any indication that she even attempted to put it in her ear after she couldn't find the one for her right ear. Then, we get to WBT (she's put the wrap back on) and both of the ear pieces are visible, in pictures. Yet, they are visibly hanging around her neck. She didn't put them in her ears yet was still (lip) singing WBT at times, her mouth movements were matching the lyrics. It's not impossible but I doubt that the ear pieces suddenly stopped working after ALS. At this point, I'm more inclined to believe that it was a matter of the wrong backing track being used for Emotions. Unlike ALS and WBT, Emotions just had the beat and some whistles. It was a track for actually singing to but that wasn't the plan. When that went South, so did the rest of the performance. She didn't even try to salvage it. I love her as an artist, you guys know I've been here for years, but some of you have serious blinders on. Someone who has faced their own stuff, is living authentically, and loves themselves unconditionally doesn't seek out love or validation from anywhere but inside. In many ways Mariah has not dealt with her wounds and is filling her life with distractions, so she can avoid the pain of really dealing. I don't judge where she's at, I have compassion for her. She's got self esteem issues, co-dependency issues and addiction issues. We all deal with these things in some form or another. Mariah is no different. Doesn't mean I have my head in the sand though. If her monitors are not working, speak clearly through the microphone and say "Stop the track." 2. Put on a smile, tell the audience there are some technical problems and hopefully someone will sort it out. 3. Start doing Emotions without the backing track and try to get the audience to sing along giving her and the engineers a bit of time to sort out the problems. It ain't rocket science. That sounds exactly like her I bet she's reading it (hey Stella) and sticking her middle finger at you lol. There comes a time when we need to stop making excuses for her and stop being in denial. The performance was bad, her attitude with talking to Ryan earlier in the night was "off" too. The twitter/instagram statement is off too and why she let Stella post that is absured. If she couldn't sing live, she needs to stop accepting these gigs. She should have done like John Legend and performed for the Hollywood part and tapped her performance in front of her fans these live performances ain't working anymore. Industry devils (70,559) by Tyler from USA This performance shows there are people out there who are blatantly against her. This is way too similar to the mic feed leak from NBC. The team at NBC were pisssed she made them wait so engineers leaked the audio. I'm not sure if people were paid to mess with her audio but I 100 percent believe this was a set up. She's made enemies with the wrong people and they are doing their best to make her life hell. Mics and audio do not mysteriously just shut off. It's really sad and I feel for her.
