If Stella lurks in the darkness (70,349)
by Todd from Melbourne, Australia
| |
|
|
If Stella is a phantom messageboarder, here's a tip for you. I'm about to unlike Mariah on Facebook because of the daily posts linking back to the mindless "articles" that are being posted on the abhorrent www.Mariahsworld.com. I've been a diehard fan since 1995 - so who knows what the casual AIWFCIY fans are thinking.

Subtle Invitation (70,348)
by 123 from USA
| |
|
|
I've said it before that if Charmbracelet was sung in full voice, the album would be 10 times better. I love her singing the verses in Subtle Invitation live here in the Charmbracelet tour. If you keep watching the video it goes into her impromptu introduction of the band and vocalists, which reminded me when Trey was called "Big Nasty" when he was slim and trim. When they had his face blurred on the show I wondered out loud and someone told me, "Maybe he didn't want to be filmed because he was embarrased of his size and didn't want to be seen on TV that way." Not sure since he was filmed in her current videos but the struggle is real to keep your weight in check. Eating holiday chocolates as I type this.

Mariah or maybe it was Walter has said that they wanted the same Hammond B3 Organ that George used in One More Try for Can't Let Go.

The intro of the original One More Try is almost identical to that of Mariah's Can't Let Go.

Mariah Carey remembers friend George Michael (70,344)
by B from USA

|

[What] Mariah won't soon forget is the single "One More Try" that served as a tribute to George's influence. Back in 2014, George thanked Mariah for recording the song which immediately touched her heart. "I'm so honored you like my rendition of 'One More Try'," Mariah wrote. "You and this song have always meant so much to me. Fan and friend for life." I love that Mariah shared this recent memory they shared and I don't understand the cynicism. She's not using George's death to promote MIAM. She barely promoted that album when it was released and how anyone can/could think sharing her most recent conversation with absurd. Didn't Mariah say in an early interview that she had his poster on her wall? She's always been a fan of his and one of his songs inspired one of her songs (it's the intro, can't remember which song).

I hope not. I don't think Mariah's ready to give the game up yet. She's still writing new music. By doing the residency, world tour, and North American tour she's reconnecting with her fans and reminding them of why they love her. This strategy worked after Charmbracelet tanked. Mariah's next studio album is going to be vocally epic. I want Mariah to work with the writers and producers Bruno Mars, Frank Ocean, and Miguel write with.

Mariah's varying perfumes were selling like hot cakes at the local Wal-Mart. I overheard tweens saying they love her. She just needs the right song to make another comeback.

by Antonio from Spain
| |
|
|
Merry Christmas, lambily. How are you all? I have fell in love with the Glitter soundtrack again and I can't wait to watch the film again. I would love to get it on Blu-ray and I've seen it's gonna be released on January the 3rd. You can already pre-order it on Amazon US. But I was wondering if it'll be released in Europe (you know how it goes with the regions and stuff) do any of you know? Much love. [Webmaster: Wasn't Christmas two days ago?]

I have followed George since Wham. And I am both thankful such a gift was expressed with the world and utterly heartbroken there will be no more new music. This is a huge loss to the music community, and people will soon become aware of his generosity too. If you don't know his work, I'd encourage you to spend some time with his catataloge. He is one of the most gifted muscians with a voice like velvet. So smooth. Graceful and profound at once. Incredible live. Really puts all the day to day drama in perspective. None of that matters. Bless you George, thank you for the music.

Great answer from Marylin Monroe. This is so true with the enemies. Mariah should think about it and I hope she wakes up from her dreamland with the snakes and fake people. Even a "blind" person could see they are no good.

Rihanna is a joke. She will never come close musically. A lot of "older" people have no idea who she is. But everyone knows Mariah Carey. She is the singer who broke nearly every record and ruled the 90ies. First like a Cinderella, then the pop-soul princess and diva. She is a true legend and hopefully we will get new music soon. But it would be better if she takes the time to be really creative and be able to surprise us. She'll always be the songbird supreme.

B. you might find this funny. It is an old SNL spoof of "Single White Female" called Single White Person starring the long running SNL character Pat. Of course the running gag on SNL is no one can identify Pat's gender, or sexuality. The skit is ridiculous and funny.

Mariah and her band of yes people (70,328)
by RibbonB from USA
| |
|
|
I read this in Parade magazine this Sunday, from the answer lady Marilyn. Regarding Marilyn's comment on compliments "Everyone who compliments you makes you feel good, everyone who criticizes you, makes you do better the next time. How can you tell the difference between a critic and an enemy?" Her answer: "A critic loves to inform you about your various failings, but an enemy will never tell you what you're doing wrong." Yes Mariah has a lot of critics, but she also has a lot of concerned fans who both praise and are willing to critique her. Her current team and band of paid friends have a vested interest in keeping her "happy", they seem very much to be that group of paid enemies. In fact, the one's closest have a vested interest in steering her wrong, her "sister-wives" the hired house boy B. and his supervisor Stella. That seems to be this years theme, Mariah running with "enemies" and snakes indeed. May she have a better more real new years. Best wishes to her children.

George Michael (70,327)
by Mara from United States

I am completely devastated. I always wished for that magical duet between the best female and male in the business. How sad that one of the biggest Christmas staples in music "Last Christmas" and he leaves us on Christmas. I always listened to Where Did Your Heart Go and into Last Christmas every year wrapping gifts since that album came out. I really equate this loss on the level as someone like Mariah to me. I know she was a big fan of him and did appreciate the all around artist he was too. There was such a sadness around his life and he poured that into his writing and albums. He was never really appreciated while here and now the tributes are pouring in. Very sad. I wish this was a nightmare and it was not true, especially on Christmas. Such a sad day. I have followed him forever and I know he hasn't been seen in public for a very long time. I was hoping for that reemergening and new album and I'm sad for me and his fans that we won't get that. I hope there is some of the album done and we get that chance to hear some unreleased music. He really was one of the greats who just "had it" I think of Mariah's song "The Wind" and hope he is now "Finally At Peace".
