George Michael (70,307)
by Andrew from UK

George Michael once stole this bottle of vodka from me. Never bloody getting it back now, am I? Genuinely nice guy and one of the few male vocalists who could outsing the divas. His version of Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me is one of the most punch-the-air, kickass recordings ever. One can only hope he finds the peace in death in he could never seem to find in life.

I can't believe it. I love his music. All the great ones are fading away. So sad. The man could write and sing with such soul.

Merry Christmas all of you, and especially to the queen of the season - but what travesty of an outfit is this? You're supposed to decorate the Christmas tree, not wear it and look hunchbacked from certain unflattering angles.

Really, 2016? You started the year by taking David Bowie, and then Prince, and you just had to take one more, did you? Rest in peace to one half of Wham! and one of the best male singers of all time, George Michael. Never thought this would be his last Christmas. And we're never gonna dance again.

Sad news on Christmas. We never got the duet, but at least we got a Mariah cover. May he rest in peace. Wishing everyone peace, love and positivity during this holiday season and into 2017. Drama is overrated.

Thank you, I hope every one is enjoying the holidays. I listen to "Silent Night" and "Holy Night". It's like listening to an angel. No matter how much I don't agree with some things I'm thankful for the beautiful music that will stay forever. Merry Christmas.

Lol well I'm actually grateful she just lays there being dainty, gets carried around, and does her little strut here and there, because the whole gyrate, twerk, booty dance moves they do in those type of costumes comes off very "stripper-esque" to me.

Commercial success debate (70,293)
by Chicago Lamb from USA
| |
|
|
Isn't it common sense that an artist isn't going to sell as many records, have their songs played on the radio, fall out of favor with the general public after a certain amount of time? I mean, come on. She's not going to just keep recording #1, top 10, or top 40 singles her entire career. What she has managed to do since her commercial peak is quite obvious, otherwise we wouldn't be here, a part of it. Can we just appreciate what we have now? I'm looking forward to seeing her in March along side Lionel Richie (tickets purchased). Happy Holidays to all.

No, that's not what I meant. Obviously Mariah still has hits after her Columbia years, what I meant is which songs from her extensive collection of hit songs are the most remembered by the public, not just achieving chart success. Like, which hits stick to people's head to this day. Because not all hits will be remembered long. For example, compare Whitney's I Will Always Love You to How Will I Know. Both are two of Nippy's 11 number ones, but I Will Always Love You is still sung and played across the world, while only some remember How Will I Know. Both are hit songs, but I Will Always Love You certainly has more impact.

I just can't wait until this bra era and extremely sexualized cheap looking is over. Mariah deserves better than this. And I bet some day she will regret that "phase". Please Mariah, next year a classy and sensual style. And even in casual jeans she was always beautiful.
