Rollout evaluation (111,355)
by Edward from USA

Randy, I'm with you on this one. The rollout has definitely been one of her stronger ones in years, and I've really enjoyed the little details. it feels like she's been more present this era. "Type Dangerous" and "Sugar Sweet" don't feel like the kind of tracks that should be leading an album, but they're not bad either. I'll give "Type Dangerous" credit for at least being different from anything she's put out before, which is a good thing. A "B" sounds fair, the effort is definitely there, but the execution could've been tighter. Hopefully the full album makes up for those choices.

I gotta give it to MC and y'all know I don't like anything. I've enjoyed this rollout. I liked the little interviews about the album covers, her what's the next line interview previewing Mi, her going to the radio interviewers and podcasts, her talking about her videos interview, her previewing Mi with merchandise, I liked the MTV performance and the video for Type Dangerous was pretty good. I like the album artwork and the track listing. Hopefully she'll do some television this week. I have two issues. And they are major. The first is the choice of singles. Even the most die hard "yasss queen" would have to admit that you put your best foot forward when you need an album to do well. Type Dangerous and Sugar Sweet while ok songs are album tracks at best. They are not singles and that worries me for the album's quality. The second thing is that the fact that she and Gamma thought they were singles and ushered the rollout a month too early. It was delusional. If I had to grade this rollout I can't give it an A+ because of them acting from purely false hope. I would have to give it a solid B. I'm excited for Friday but very apprehensive about where this will rank as far as quality in her catalogue.

Was so sweet to send Mariah a bouquet of flowers and a statement of how much she's excited for HFIA. I don't know if all of you follow Mariah on Insta because if you don't you should. I love reading comments from fans under Mariah's posts. I always make sure to hit the like button and leave a comment. Mariah and Frankie J are the only two people I care for on Insta.

I wonder what the last song MC recorded that she talked about in June. Gamma may have heard it and thought let's save this song for a later single and release Sugar Sweet instead. Also, there was probably a back and forth about a August or September release date after Type Dangerous only spent one week on the Hot 100. The situation kind of reminds me when Michael Jackson released I Just Can't Stop Loving You as the first single from his Bad album. It was unlike him at the time to release a ballad as a first single to launch his new album. It was a surprise Hot 100 number #1 song. Anyway, Type Dangerous was different for MC and did not explode on pop radio like Gamma had hoped it would. It needed a video premiere on the release day to perform better on the Hot 100 in my opinion.

Does anyone agree that Mariah ate in those two photos on the piano she posted on her Insta? The hair, the face card, the ensemble. That color looks so good on her and she does not look 56 at all. Now why couldn't she wear that instead of the Golden ensemble at the VMAS haha. I just can't let it go and never will. I never wanna see it again.

Do we think Mariah has a collaboration already recorded with SZA? When she was asked about artists she currently listens to she mentioned SZA which I mean I get it. SZA is a good artist but this is the first time Mariah dropped her name. Could this be a clue and now SZa sending the flowers? I hope so. I think they can make good music together.

Streaming (111,349)
by Giovanni from USA
| |

Even if "Play this song" turns out to be a good song or even hit worthy I worry about streaming. Mariah has a social media and streaming problem and so I worry fans will not stream the song or album. I know the single will be sent to radio but in order for Mariah to have a successful single and album we need as many lambs to stream. Mariah definitely has some more hits left in her but she needs our help. I hope Gamma has a plan and will help but I don't see it.

I mean the song title itself sounds good and tells me it will be a good song especially with Anderson .Paak. I can't wait for the video because although I like "Type dangerous" the video is terrible and too AI for me. I'm wondering if the photos of Mariah on the piano were from the video? There has been no sightings of Anderson .Paak with Mariah so I wonder if the video was recently shot or done a month ago?

After Rainbow, and the D, F, H, H, first singles maybe 2001 was the moment she should've changed it up and not been so predictable with a lesser version of a first up-tempo single (sure if the original Firecracker was released that would've been better). But maybe the first single should've been her first single ballad since Vision of Love. New label, a reset. In hindsight I would've picked Lead The Way. It's Mariah's favorite song on the album and it's arguably the best song on the album. It would've won over the general public too, and that would've had a positive effect on the movie. Second single could've been, Loverboy. Then If We, followed by Last Night A DJ Saved My Life. Glitter was the original wrong single choices album.

This is why I need Mariah to not always have her way, and have people that tell her as it is and I'm glad Jermaine is one of those few people. That's a true friend. Just imagine that song without the sustain. The song will not have been a monster hit the way it was, without a doubt. Six days to the new album guys. Fingers crossed.

This is somewhat exciting. I'm tired of singles getting dropped and then immediately dropped from promotion. Mariah is going to have to actual promote if she wants this album and singles to do well. I caved in and preordered the album even though I think there will be deluxe versions coming later. At least I hope so. It's getting kinda boring. Other artists put way more effort into their art. She'll always have her hits and number ones. If she's happy with that, so am I.

Honestly I guess family completely steered me away from it too. They considered it "new age". While I of course, am middle of the road with astrology, in terms of belief, I just think it's such a cool thing to be well-verse on these days. Everyone literally asks about your sign, it's really a great conversation starter. I'm glad you kept your interest. I just looked up my birthday and it said:
• Highly intuitive and perceptive They have a sixth sense for reading people and situations. Nothing really gets past them. This makes them hard to fool, and terrifying in debates or confrontations.
• Protective (but not always forgiving) Fiercely loyal to those they care about, but once betrayed, it's nearly impossible to regain their trust.
• Drawn to the unseen or mysterious They're often fascinated by life's darker or more taboo subjects: psychology, true crime, spirituality, death, secrets, transformation.
It honestly describes me to the T. It's such an interesting read, very insightful.
I looked up Mariah's and it says:
• High-energy and passionate: These people don't just live, they charge through life. They're motivated, competitive, and usually up for a challenge. Boredom is their enemy.
• Intelligence and creativity: Quick-witted and action-oriented, March 27 individuals often excel in fast-paced environments , think business, sports, entrepreneurship, or performance arts. They think best when they're in motion, and they often come up with brilliant ideas under pressure.
• In love: Romantic, passionate, and enthusiastic, they love the thrill of romance. They tend to fall fast and pursue hard. However, they need partners who can keep up with their energy and don't try to control them. Respect and independence are non-negotiable.
Yet again, very accurate descriptions of MC. And thank you Lamb. I'm headed to LA in October and I'm just gonna drop by at Gammas headquarters and inquire to see if there's openings. I think about Mariah a lot so I feel called to do it. I would just have to worry about the practicalities of moving near Santa Monica, but I think all the fun I'll have while working will be worth it.

When I was growing up my mom and grandma were super religious. I was too. I bought some astrology books in a yard sale when I was like 13. I got really into it. I would meet people and see if their personalities matched with what their planet placements said about them (if I knew their planet placements). When my mom found my stash (of books) she threw them all out. I took a long break but it always remained a secret interest of mine.
As I got older I became more spiritual than religious but I still always pray because I like having a relationship with God. I will pray for you that you will choose the path that will benefit your life the best.
