Sabrina Carpenter Christmas (107,378) by Robert-Anthony from United States
Thank you, Mimi. Taylor Swift's name raises any public figure to new levels.

Mariah not socialising with the industry (107,377) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Ah okay, thanks for the info. Yes, Mariah was the biggest star with Daydream, plus Tommy, so she was safe compared to new ones or wannabes. I don't remember that part in the book. I need to read it again. I think Tommy was right to protect her, the controlling was too much of course. But which husband would let a pretty young woman alone with rappers or a man with a bad image?

That is actually not true, there are many photos of Mariah with Diddy post the 90s. Especially around TEOM era they were photographed together a lot including him being on stage with her at one of the TAOM shows. She had also shared in The Meaning of Mariah how Tommy had racist comments about Diddy when Diddy was new and how she defended his artistry when she was asked about it during some kind of gathering. All this doesn't mean she knew what he did and turned a blind eye, she very well could have had a very different experience with him where he wouldn't dare mess with her during the 90s due to Tommy and him being new and after that she was a bigger star than him. So it could be due to her having a different sort of experience with him she didn't know but it's not true that she cut him off after the 90s. A quick Google search will show many photos.

That's true. I also believe because Mariah is a smart woman, she decided to stay away from him after 98. Plus the male diva thing is nothing Mariah would tolerate more than once.

I also find it quite interesting (in a good way), that despite Mariah's heavy involvement in the Hip-hop community, after 97-98, you never see her hanging out with Diddy anymore, or doing anymore collaborations (wasn't he being a diva during the Honey remix video?). Something tells me that she may have noticed how he was, or was becoming, and she decided to steer clear.

Her team really put in the work this year, leading with getting her on the Eras tour which got the Swifties behind her. Right before that her 2 songs Nonsense and Feathers were somewhat popular. The Taylor endorsement helped. But she also put out some really catchy, easy to digest pop songs which had throwback good old pop days vibes and almost each song had those viral lyrics like "Espresso" with "I'm working late cause I'm a singer", then "please please please" with "I beg you don't embarrass me MF" which led to so many tiktok reels, and all her videos had very fun replay value. She also has her signature bombshell look down. She basically owned this year haha. I honestly only knew her in passing before she started on the Eras tour.

She didn't go to all maybe but she went to a bunch of Diddy parties including his famous "White Parties". But I'm guessing Diddy was different with Mariah because she was an established artist by then, he preyed on the up and coming.

Mariah not socialising with the industry (107,371) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I don't know. I wondered too. All I can say is that I'm so disgusted about Sean Combs. I used to listen to his music/hits as a teen in the 90ies until 2002. I never thought that he is such a monster like R. Kelly. I was too young and naive. I can't listen to some songs anymore. The "bad boy for life" comes to my mind. Sick people (the rappers) who think just because they have money and some fame they can do what they want.

With the current scandal, involving a certain someone she worked with on 2 songs from the [Butterfly] and 1 remix from the [Daydream] era, aren't you relieved that Mariah never went to all the parties?

Did you guys see the little teaser video Netflix posted about Sabrina's Christmas special? The video starts from her foot and she's dressed in a Mrs. Claus type outfit, and the camera pans upwards and reveals her face and she says, "Expecting someone else?" Kinda feels like she meant if we were expecting Mariah. And then under a comment about someone saying something about Mariah, Netflix replied with "imagine if they collaborate". Do you guys think Mariah may make a cameo? It'd be fun. Sabrina is fun and quirky and she basically owned this year with back to back bangers. Her song Nonsense reminds me a lot of Ariana-Mariah airy vocals love songs.

Brazil concert (107,366) by Carlos from Brazil
Guys, I am losing my mind thinking in just one day I will see Mariah live for the first time. I feel very blessed and I hope all the Brazilian lambs have the most amazing time. I also think she will deliver a historical performance at Rock in Rio. I will only attend the São Paulo concert. For you guys to see Rock in Rio live it will be available to stream on Globoplay.

Industry problems vs. waning radio airplay (107,362) by Robert-Anthony from United States
MC is in the same club as other R&B artists like Brandy, Eric Benet, Trey Songz, Keyshia Cole, Monica, Toni Braxton, and Robin Thicke. They all have not released an album since their last albums were not huge sellers and with waning radio airplay. So is it a music industry problem for older R&B artists or radio programmers just don't cater to older R&B artists anymore? All eight artists could release an album today and it would be better than what Urban AC radio is playing on the radio today by these new young artists.

I agree with you - unless she has financial advisors who don't have her best interest in mind. There is a precedent for finance people who will steal money from the very people they are supposed to protect. I do remember a time when she hired a horrible manager Stella, which was hurting her career.

Let's be honest, Mariah Carey will never be broke, does she spend to much? Probably. But she will have financial advisors that keep an eye on her wealth and income. And there's no way the relationship with her and James ended due to money, he's a billionaire and was recently reported to have suffered a breakdown after Mariah. I wouldn't believe everything the newspapers report. Maybe she has been told to curb her spending against her earnings so late on in her career, but she will never be broke.

Neither do I but even if it’s true why is this article even necessary. It’s not impacting anyone and she’s also not in the middle of a scandal. Very weird for them to do an “exposé” on her financials.

I wouldn't believe anything from the NY Post. It is owned by the same people who owns Fox News and the National Enquirer. Besides, she's stil the best selling female artist in American history. I never had no issue with her diva persona when rappers are given passes for being jerks.

Memoirs album thoughts 15 years later (107,354) by Robert-Anthony from United States
Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel has to be MC's best album title for being creative and making the music buyer want to listen to the album's 17 tracks. The album cover is just gorgeous. Also, too bad Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis didn't have tracks 18-20 on the album. Their addition would have definitely increased sales and airplay.
